Reddit does not make your voting history obvious, but there are still a few ways to check the posts and comments you have upvoted or downvoted. What you can see depends on whether you are using the Reddit app, the website, or trying to review older activity.
What Reddit Lets You See
Reddit keeps a record of your voting activity in your account history, but it does not provide a simple built-in page that lists every upvoted and downvoted post in one place for all users. In many cases, you will need to check your profile activity, saved items, or browser and app tools depending on what you are trying to find.
How to See Upvoted Posts on Reddit
- Open Reddit and sign in to your account.
- Go to your profile by selecting your avatar or username.
- Look for your activity or profile tabs, which may include posts, comments, and sometimes upvoted content depending on the interface you are using.
- Check the section for hidden, saved, or viewed activity if the platform version you use separates vote history from standard profile tabs.
- If the post is no longer visible there, use Reddit search or your browser history to help find it again.
On some versions of Reddit, particularly older or desktop layouts, you may be able to find a dedicated section for posts you have interacted with. On newer layouts and mobile apps, however, Reddit often hides vote history behind a more limited activity view, so the exact menu names may differ.
How to See Downvoted Posts on Reddit
- Open your Reddit account and go to your profile or activity page.
- Check whether the interface shows a voting history, activity log, or hidden content section.
- Look through items you have interacted with recently, since downvoted content may not appear in a separate obvious list.
- If you cannot find a visible downvoted section, remember that Reddit may not expose a full public list of downvotes in the standard interface.
- Use search terms, subreddit history, or browser history to locate the post if you remember part of the title or community name.
Downvoted posts are harder to retrieve than upvoted ones because Reddit does not treat downvotes as a browsing feature in the same way as saved posts or profile activity. If your goal is to remove a downvote or compare what you voted on, you may need to revisit the original post directly.
Using Saved Posts as a Backup
If your real goal is to keep track of useful Reddit content, saving posts is usually more reliable than relying on vote history. Saved posts are easy to find from your profile and are designed for exactly this purpose.
- Save a post if you want to find it later without searching again.
- Use voting for ranking content, not as a personal bookmark system.
- Combine saved posts with upvotes if you want both a reading list and a vote history of sorts.
Differences Between the Reddit App and Desktop Site
The Reddit mobile app and desktop site do not always show the same menus. If you cannot find your voting history in one place, try the other version. Some account activity options are easier to reach on desktop, while the app may present a simplified profile view.
If You Still Cannot Find Your Vote History
- Check whether you are signed into the correct Reddit account.
- Look through your browser history if you viewed the post recently.
- Search the subreddit name plus a keyword from the post title.
- Review your saved posts in case you saved the item instead of voting on it.
- Try desktop if the mobile app does not show the same profile options.
If Reddit does not expose the exact vote history you want, there may not be a direct in-app way to view it. In that case, the best option is usually to search for the post again or use other account activity features that are available on your version of Reddit.
Which Method Works Best?
For a quick check, start with your profile activity and saved posts. If you are trying to find a specific upvoted item, those are usually the most practical places to look. Downvoted posts are more limited, so searching by memory, subreddit, or browser history is often the fastest route.
